Responsibility as a foundation

We want to be Denmark's most responsible furniture company. It is at the heart of everything we do. The only footprints we want to leave are stories in the lives of the people who have felt at home in our furniture. We produce furniture in FSC®-certified wood (FSC-C164841), look for our FSC®-certified products. We always aim for our textiles to meet Oeko-Tex or EU Ecolabel standards. We are working towards our furniture - from the small stool to the large dining table - coming under the wings of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. At the same time, we work daily to reduce our carbon footprint and fine-tune our production to leave nature richer for the future. Since 1942, FDB Møbler has created furniture that lasts, and we want to ensure that our history proudly can be passed on to our grandchildren's children.

Design with people first

How much space do you need to spread your arms? How should a chair's backrest be angled so you can lean back comfortably? As Børge Mogensen said: "Furniture should serve man." At FDB Møbler we design for life's many moments. Furniture is created to keep up with life as it changes - from the small everyday situations to the big moments. Whether it's family dinners around the dining table or relaxing on the sofa, our furniture shouldn't just be decorative, but part of the life and rhythm of the home. We think in functional design, where simplicity and beauty go hand in hand. No superfluous details, just clean lines that are always current. Honest design and solid craftsmanship all around, so even the back can be proudly displayed. With a timeless Danish design that combines simplicity and functionality, they are not only beautiful, but also created with sustainability in mind. Many of our furniture pieces look like they came off the drawing board today, but may be 60 or 70 years old. This shows that our design is ahead of its time, even though it is rooted in tradition. When you buy a new piece of furniture from us, you're rarely the last person to use it. Our furniture is made to be a part of your home life for many years. The legacy of durability that our designs carry with them extends to the materials and craftsmanship that goes into each piece of furniture. From the finger-tapped joints to the solid craftsmanship woven into the seats and fabrics, our furniture is created with a focus on quality. Everything is rigorously tested at the Danish Technological Institute before it is ready to become part of its first home.
