Info about the product

The counter is a classic piece of furniture by Børge Mogensen from his time as head of FDB's furniture design studio in the 1940s. A frugal and simple design that does not make much of a fuss. The counter is lower than a bar stool and taller than a dining chair – making it versatile in different parts of the home. The J27C serves as a flexible piece of furniture for seating at the kitchen island or an informal conversation at the kitchen table. In line with Børge Mogensen's uncompromising demand for high quality, the counter is produced in Nordic materials which gives it a long durability with a natural, patinated look over the years.

Børge Mogensen

Børge Mogensen (1914–1972) was one of the most important and influential representatives of Danish furniture design. Almost everyone in Denmark has experienced his designs – from the well-known, modern FDB furniture of the 1940s to countless classics that have furnished both homes and public spaces in Denmark since the Second World War.

Børge Mogensen believed that furniture should fit the human being, rather than the other way around and that functional quality furniture is paramount. The entire range of his furniture designs – sofas, dining tables and dining chairs – is distinguished by a recurring theme: simple lines, solid wooden surfaces and soft, shell cordovan leather. Modern design with a distinguished history.
