Jørgen Bækmark's designs are characterized by a beautiful, calm design language and solid craftsmanship. There is a special harmony in all his furniture, including the D33, which he designed in 1959 while he was head of design at FDB Furniture. D33 is a great example of how timeless design can be. The design is extremely well-proportioned and just as beautiful and relevant today as back then. In all its functionalist simplicity, the table is full of details. This includes the elegant way it can be assembled and disassembled and the fine curves that can also be seen on Bækmark’s iconic J80 Dining chairs.

Jørgen Bækmark (b. 1929 - 2021) is behind several iconic Danish furniture. From 1958 and nine years on, he was a design director of FDB Møbler, where he helped make design furniture available to the common man.

Based on the Danish design tradition, his furniture is characterized by a beautiful, quiet design language and a solid craft with the eye for the smallest details. There is a special harmony in the furniture, including in his classic dining table chairs J80 and J81.

Perhaps most importantly, Jørgen Bækmark has always emphasized comfort, which his furniture bears the mark of the day today.
