Info about the product

This stool epitomises Børge Mogensen’s furniture design when he was head of the FDB Møbler design studio in the 1940s. A restrained and simple design that does not cry out for attention, but which fulfils the original role of the stool – a piece of practical yet well-designed furniture with general appeal. The stool, called J27, serves as an extremely versatile piece of furniture with multiple functions – for use at the dining table, for sitting on during an informal conversation or when doing homework in the living room. In line with Børge Mogensen’s uncompromising quality standards, the stool is manufactured from Nordic materials, ensuring that it will last a long time while slowly acquiring a natural patina.

Børge Mogensen

Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was one of Denmark's most important furniture architects. Almost all Danes have experienced his design-from the well-known, modern FDB furniture in the 1940s to the countless classics that have furnished both our homes and public spaces since World War II.

Børge Mogensen believed that the furniture should fit man, and not the other way around. Functional quality furniture above all. Whether it's the sofa, dining table or dining table chair, there is a clear and red throughout thread in his furniture.

Simple lines, clean wood surfaces and bold core leather. A modern design that draws threads back into history.
